Research Activities

On August 1, 2025, the 4th CNU–SU Joint Symposium was successfully held at Chungnam National University (CNU) in Daejeon, Republic of Korea, co-organized by the Research Institute of Green Science and Technology (RIGST), Shizuoka University, and CNU.

This symposium, which began in FY2021 to promote international research exchange mainly among young researchers from both universities, marked its fourth edition this year. Researchers from diverse fields—including chemistry, biology, materials science, and process engineering—gathered to strengthen collaborative research and enhance academic partnerships between the two universities.

The program featured 11 invited talks and 28 poster presentations, during which participants actively discussed their research results and challenges. The sessions were particularly engaging, with students eagerly exchanging questions and insights, creating a fruitful environment for learning from each other’s approaches and perspectives.

In addition, informal discussions during breaks and the networking reception further deepened the connections among researchers and students, leading to stronger academic networks between Shizuoka University and CNU. Many participants commented that “receiving questions from different fields provided a valuable opportunity to reconsider our research from a new angle.”

Through this symposium, both institutions have reaffirmed their commitment to fostering the international collaboration of young researchers. RIGST and CNU will continue to advance sustainable partnerships in the field of green science and technology.
