Dr. Asama is with the Precision Mechatronics Laboratory and creates a highly-efficient and functional mechanical system which contributes to green innovation, based on the precision mechatronics technology. Especially, he focuses on development of innovative electro-magnetic machines that employs magnetic suspension technology. The non-contact magnetically-suspended machines reduce mechanical loss and improve durability, resulting in energy saving and cost reduction. He works together with Prof. Takayuki Saito, a Deputy Director of Research Institute of Green Science and Technology, on the new Ministry’s agriculture-technology-information collaboration project. In this project, a highly-precise and magnetically-suspended liquid atomization system is under development to produce micron-sized liquid particles, which is intended for the basic research on antivirus ozone-mist protection.
